Highland Cross

Highland Cross

November 2019

Highland Cross announced its 2019 fundraising total of £286,121, and presented the 5 principal benefiting charities with their cheques.

MacKenzie Kerr have now provided voluntary admin support throughout the year for this event for the past 17 years, as well as being helpers on the day of the event since 1988.

Well done to all the competitors, volunteers and charities who have worked together over the years to raise a 37 year total of over £5.3million.

September 2019

MacKenzie Kerr are proud to be one of the main sponsors of Highland Cross, a charity which provides benefit to local causes in the Highland community.

The charity event, a duathlon which starts from Morvich in the west coast of Scotland to Beauly in the east coast, 20 miles on foot and 30 miles cycling, has been held on the Saturday closest to midsummer’s day since its conception in 1983. As a firm we have been helping out with the registration at the start of the event since 1988, taking over the administration for the event in 2003.

Every penny of sponsorship raised in the 37 years of the event has been passed across to the benefiting charities and any surpluses donated to smaller causes each year, resulting in over £5million being handed over to charities in the Highland area.

Two colleagues from our Inverness office, Marie Eddie and Martin Nairn, along with Michelle McCormick from our Grantown office took part in the event this year, raising the fantastic sum of £1,190.

Marie and Michelle were first time “Crossers” but this was Martin’s 3rd Crossing and his PB finish in a time of 4.58.17.

Well done to them all.
